Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction

June 22, 2006

It's very rare to come across a line that has a a great concept and is dedicated to printing real art and not just what they think is "t-shirt material. Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction has a great concept, prints art and it's just so happens that the artwork looks great both on t-shirts and on canvas. Bookmark this.

"Taking its name from Walter Benjamin's landmark 1934 essay, Art In the Age
of Mechanical Reproduction
is a clothing company that truly collaborates
with actual artists rather than of just telling them what to do. All artists
work on a freelance basis and so they give their "real" work and not just something they think can sell. Our artist / collaborators see our companyas a way of delivering an original and thought-provoking message to a public
who is tired of being spoon-fed slop by nameless corporations, and so the
clothing and accessories produced by Art in the Age of Mechanical
Reproduction posses a vitality that only gets stronger the more you
experience it"

The very first collection is a line of artist shirts that are available for
a year, as well as paper screenprints and a line of limited edition shirts,
which showcase handmade additions by the artists. For more information on
the collection, our artists and their bios visit www.artintheage.com.
