Antipoda Tees – Wear Art

January 24, 2006

While the moto “wearart” is a rather bold statement, Antipoda wear is indeed wearable art.

Antipoda on Antipoda: “Antipoda is an Art organisation as well as a Street clothing label providing support to a selected international community of contemporary artists. Our Street Clothing label was created & developed by our community members.

Antipoda is an online art gallery that brings together artistic talent from around the world to one centralized environment. The search for raw talent is simplified by means of bringing the art community into one globalize network. In general, the purpose of the gallery is to bring all innovative artforms to the forefront.”
In the shop section theres a large excerpt from a Robert Crumb interview about people being human billboards wearing huge corporate logos on their chests that have no meaning and no artistic value, I share the same feelings more or less.

Hey, those are some great tees. I especially love the pattern print on the Antipoda & Luke Chueh piece. There is something about those printed patterns that really gets me. Strange imaging though.
